Not sure where to start! Just been diagnosed with stage 4 small bowel cancer

Hi - sitting in hospital before a portacath insertion & the beginning of chemo. Worried that the prognosis of 2-3 years is a pipe dream but trying to be positive! Tired & over thinking. I have stage 4 small bowel cancer & another hard lump & swollen tummy which I hope the chemo can reduce.

Sorry - this is an out pouring of misery but better here than messaging family & friends with my worries?!?

Very recent diagnosis & only found out I had cancer at the beginning of July. Significant surgery as they thought ovarian & ileostomy & bowel removal - which brings me now to chemo.

This is like a dear diary entry that am sending into the ether but wishing all a happy Friday & a good bank holiday xx

  • It is good to write on here. I wrote a diary for my journey here. See if you can find it :-)
Keep writing, stay positive. As a consultant said to me, it's not the 1950s, things are different now.

    Keep your chin up.
