Stage 4 malignant melanoma

Hi don’t think I’ve introduced myself before I’m Louise and am 3 years on this life changing journey it’s just s… just about to restart single dose immunotherapy wish it would just do one now anyone else with stage 4 melanoma want to chat ? Or anyone similar age going through similar xx

    Hello Louise and a warm welcome to our forum, 

    3 years on this life-changing journey, I can imagine you feel a bit exhausted by it all and I hope that your immunotherapy treatment is going well. It does help though when feeling a bit drained by everything to reach out to others here who may be going through the same at the very same time or who have been through this treatment before or who have been diagnosed with stage 4 malignant melanoma. There is one lady here who has had melanoma before and who knows a lot about melanoma - her name is  and don't hesitate to read her posts on the forum which are always so supportive and informative. If you type 'stage 4 melanoma' in our forum search function which is located at the top of the page, you will be able to see past relevant threads from members who were affected by stage 4 melanoma and feel free to respond to any you feel might be relevant to you. 

    I hope that you will be able to connect with others here who are going through the same. Keep strong you are doing so well putting up with 3 years of treatment and I hope that the immunotherapy will be effective and that things improve for you soon.

    Hello Lou 

    Hopeful you are ok and your keep well with your fight. 
    My dad currently was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma stage 4 spread pretty everywhere- mainly brain, lungs, liver, abdominal and lymph nodes. Also, he has lumps under the skin. He is on palliative care and We just after first dose of ipi/nivo. Oncologist said that the most masses are located on the liver. If the results of blood for liver won’t be bad he will be carry on with immunotherapy. He had told he will receive 4 cycles of double immunotherapy following mono immunotherapy with will be nivo. 
    My dad had melanoma back in 2016 which i believe was stage 1 or 2 which only spread to lymph nodes under armpit with was cut and he had couple of radiotherapy back then to kill remaining cancer cells. He had 5 years control following 3 years of be „clear” and back as advanced stage 4 metastatic melanoma… started back in July when he was going to gp with stomach pain but back then they treat him for anything else but they did not check for the melanoma. Till lumps shown on the skin (mid October) we did not know that it back. Then he developed short paralysis in right arm and went to Emergency to check if is not seizures. They did xray scan which shown masses on the Liver. Since then all get to diagnosis. Now we pray Dad will respond well to immunotherapy and he will back to normal function. At this moment he is very tired, weak, short of breath after small walk, pain in right side from Liver and trouble with sleeping.
