Hello from Ireland

Just over two years since prostate cancer diagnosis at 59.

PSA 11.5, Gleason 9 , T3a.

On slow release 6 month hormone injections, fourth one due shortly.  HDR Dec 22 and 25 sessions radiation in early 23. Now on Aberaterone and steroid tablets , PSA undetectable.

Mood swings and hot flushes due to hormones, all manageable thankfully.

Long journey so far, and a lot more living to do.

Thanks for reading.

  • Hello Jpmf40

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis but it sounds from your post as if you've been dealing with this with a positive approach which undoubtedly will stand you in good stead!

I wanted to try and connect you up with another chap here called . Although his full diagnosis was slightly different to yours, Eddie is a similar age and was diagnosed with prostate cancer 2 years ago. Eddie also has a great approach to living with prostate cancer so hopefully the two of you can connect and share your experiences with each other.

I hope that things continue to progress well for you and that things remain stable. Thank you for posting to share your story. I know it will offer reassurance to another man in the future who finds himself facing similar news.

    Best wishes,
