Hi Alison, what a terrible shock for you. Have you family or friends to support you?

How soon after the scan/biopsy were you told?

I am waiting to go for a scan, as I have 5 symptoms. Premenopausal flooding every hour, blood like water. Pain inside. Swelling in the groin and stomach and upper thighs. I have prepared myself that it is womb cancer.

I Starred off with a pink discharge only. Went to my gp and referred to the hospital.

How are you feeling today.. Sometimes I feel strong and other times feel like j want yo cry.

Hi Alison 

your not silly at all.  Our emotions are all over the place as all this is still quite a shock to our system! 

we’ve both had big surgery & trying to get over that.  I have to admit the chemo is the one I’m dreading. 
But I know many people are going through it so we are not alone.  & there is a positive end for us!  

Re yesterday.  I’m still feeling ok.  No adverse effects … yet x 

you can have tea/coffee in morning but told me not to empty bladder before I went to hospital. 
so I went to loo about 9.30.  Had cup of tea & water & breakfast.  Appt was 11am.  Held it until procedure ended x 

Do you have family around you? Xx married? 

I have 2 sons. 2 grandchildren & one due in October!   Married 42 years x

I have 2 kids,one aged nearly 42 and a son aged 38.

I have 2 grandchildren one nearly 20 and my granddaughter nearly 15 years.Married approx 45 years.

Why have you got yo have a full bladder,that's my problem as I have urge incontinence snd can't hold it.

I wouldn’t worry too much about a full bladder. They didn’t say anything to me when I got there.  Just don’t empty before you go.  (If you’ve not far to drive that is)

I wouldn’t worry About it Alison.  Just don’t empty it before you head off (so long as you don’t have a long way to go)  they didn’t mention it to me when I got there … so don’t worry xx

I am definitely feeling a bit stronger now I’m 4 weeks since my surgery’.  
been fine with no after effects from Brachytherapy although another one this Friday .

I went to look at wigs yesterday & came home with one!  Similar to my own hair which doesn’t look too bad.  It was a bit surreal but it’s only for a limited time… I have to keep reminding myself of that. 
anither box ticked though.  This whole journey is one step one day at a time.

I tried on a few different colour & styles  dark definitely didn’t suit me as I’m fair haired.

Hi xx 2nd one ️off!  It was much quicker.  Prob about half hour from start to finish!  Didn’t hurt at all. 
felt ok so far too  one more to go on tuesday! 
Doc said will be same as today x

Just got a chat about chemo etc next Wednesday.Not sure when any of the treatment starts.So the actual Brachytherapy takes 30 minutes or is it less than that.

It’s less than that 

todays actual radiation was 7 minutes.  No CT
 First one was 15 minutes plus CT scan 

Third one is another short one No CT 

it’s been ok  nothing to worry about. 

I’m not looking forward to chemo at all … being honest.  zooming up fast now x 

hope you get your dates soon so you can plan moving forward x

Hi,hope ure OK.Had a melt down this morning,couldn't stop crying.I don't normally get upset that easy.Its the thought of having to do all this.Mind you if your strong enough to then I should be as well.

Hi Alison  I think it’s more normal to have a meltdown. I’m the other way I haven’t cried once!! It’s not normal & usually things make me cry easily.  I think it’s my self preservation tool!   If I cry I may not stop! 
It will happen I’m sure!  Seriously Alison if I can do this you can too!  It’s all been copeable so far & we’ve already come a long way.

It's probably because my mam passed a year ago.My husband has been diagnosed with prostrate cancer.My son has got kidney .disease.It all rolled into one and I felt I couldn't deal with .myself. Have you discussed the chemo.My appoitment is Wednesday.I didn't want to go. I hope its worth it.

I understand why dealing with yourself is hard too. Your family have a lot going on x 

the chemo appt was informative… lots of tick ️ boxes & forms.  Bloods taken. Etc 

 I too found it hard going in there x 

you will have to have a kidney function test at some point too. I’ve got mine this Thursday.
