Hi Alison, what a terrible shock for you. Have you family or friends to support you?

How soon after the scan/biopsy were you told?

I am waiting to go for a scan, as I have 5 symptoms. Premenopausal flooding every hour, blood like water. Pain inside. Swelling in the groin and stomach and upper thighs. I have prepared myself that it is womb cancer.

I Starred off with a pink discharge only. Went to my gp and referred to the hospital.

Hello Alison 

Exactly the same has just happened to me!  Pink discharge strange smell too! Went to gp referred.. DC done … polyps found in womb!…cancer found in polyps… diagnosed womb cancer .. had radical robotic hysterectomy 3 weeks ago!  Biopsy’s came back .. clear!  So thankful & grateful … starting brachytherapy on Friday then 6 rounds of Chemotherapy… I’m on a journey but there is an end & a very positive one thankfully!

How often have you got yo have chemotherapy for.Im totally unsure about chemo.So glad it's positive for uou.xx.I wish you the best yo.xx

3 sessions of brachytherapy then 6 rounds of chemo 1 day every 3 weeks x6 

I am nervous of the unknown  … but everyone has given me their very best care so I’m keeping a positive strong hat on! 

i hope your results come back soon & all is well 

so that you too can continue your journey  the only way is foreward x

Went for my histology results,no evidence of cancer.All contained.I have to have the same treatment as you.I don't want to lose my hair.I feel quite upset about it.It stands out that you've got cancer.Im trying yo be positive.

Alison I’m so so pleased for you!  That’s the best news & everything else pales into insignificance! 
I don’t relish the thought of losing my hair either but it’s a small price to pay for being cancer free!  Which you are at the moment! 
I’m going to get a wig next wig try to get similar to my own hair.  It’s hopefully only for 6-8 months. 
this time next year we should meet up! 
I feel very  apprehensive about the treatment but know it’s needed!  
the news is fresh for you.  Hopefully I’ve helped you & in a few days you will feel differently xx

Hi Alison 

I had my first brachytherapy today. It’s fine! 
nothing to worry about.  So far anyway. 
it wasn’t painful at all & took about an hour all in all! 
feel ok this evening so far so good! 
Number 2 next Friday! 
I hope you are doing ok today too 

I’ve booked a wig appointment on Wednesday too! 
that’s my first treatment ️off!

glad it went well,fo they do the Brachytherapy first before the chemo.How long did the actual treatment take whilst on the machine.

yes 3 sessions of brachytherapy then chemo 

first session you will have CT scan … they insert it & CT scan for about 5 mins … then  moved me to radiotherapy room for treatment I was in there 15 minutes.   Listened to music!  It was pain free . 
that was it.   Next weeks one will be quicker as no CT scan .

your not silly at all.  Our emotions are all over the place as all this is still quite a shock to our system! 

we’ve both had big surgery & trying to get over that.  I have to admit the chemo is the one I’m dreading. 
But I know many people are going through it so we are not alone.  & there is a positive end for us!  

Re yesterday.  I’m still feeling ok.  No adverse effects … yet x 

you can have tea/coffee in morning but told me not to empty bladder before I went to hospital. 
so I went to loo about 9.30.  Had cup of tea & water & breakfast.  Appt was 11am.  Held it until procedure ended x 

Do you have family around you? Xx married? 

I have 2 sons. 2 grandchildren & one due in October!   Married 42 years x
