Hi everyone I had a mastectomy in January after been diagnosed with breast cancer . I was lucky I didn’t need any more treatment after but I want to reassure people who are waiting for this operation that it isn’t as bad as people think it is . You get plenty of pain relief and they were letting me out that day if I wanted to . I stayed the night only to talk to the lovely ladies in ward with me and we laughed most the night . I couldn’t believe how well I was even though I was tired with the tables .please just think positive and don’t worry about getting this done as it’s getting rid of your cancer and really saving your life . I’m even going back next year to have reconstruction which involves two operations so it must not of been that bad to have my mastectomy in the first place . Anyway good luck to everyone who is waiting to go in but I no you won’t need it .
