Things have stepped up agear

Hi Guys,

I haven't posted for a couple of months,, but would like to give you un up date. Following advise I contacted PALS and got an appointment to see a consultant within 24 hours , but I did have to wait 9 days , so that was great. After seeing the consultant, i was given a folder full of information and contacts for help groups, (great bit of reading, there is help out there) .Following my Face to Face withe the consultant , it was agreed that I opt for Radiotherapy, and an appointment came for 21 days later but my first injection was due 6 days before that appointment, so all has gone well. Now due for some more blood tests, and a further Face to Face with the oncologist in mid June, and expect the Radiotheapy to start in JUly, for 4 weeks at 5 sessions per week. So the summer holidays on hold for a while, but at least the suns out on all fronts at the moment. Thats it guys,Alls going well at the mement, will post again with updayes when the treatment starts so others can benefit from my experiences.

  • Hi Kempster, great to hear things are moving on well, so your having SBRT, good choice, just a little heads up, you will find the radiographers the nicest people you could hope to meet in  hospital, they will help and support you 100%, answer any questions and if you would like to see a nurse or doctor will arrange that too. PS just  had my MDT meeting 1 year on from RT, treatment went better than we could have hoped for, best wishes.
