Three weeks post surgery for stage 2 IDC just found out i will need chemo as HER2 positive, still feeling sore and worried after surgery so any help ,advice or reassurance would be much appreciated.
I was diagnosed in 2016, stage 3,I had 6 rounds of chemo, 18 of Herceptin, now year 8 into 10 of Tamoxifen. The worst side effect I had from chemo was a terrible taste in my mouth which made eating unpleasant, Herceptin was much easier, Tamoxifen bearable. I hope this a bit of reassurance for you. Glad to be reassuring! Tamoxifen - the worst side effect, and I've had a few of the more minor ones , is brain fog. I'm hoping after stopping the drug this might ease, I find it difficult to be as creative as I used to be, to multi task, my cognitive abilities (Such as they were!) have slowed.
Hi Wyll, thanks for your reply and sharing that information, poor you, I do hope the brain fog does ease for you when you stop taking the drug. Unsure which type I will have but reading up they all have some side effects. I guess I should be concentrating on getting through the chemo etc before I worry about what comes next!
