Glioblastoma

My husband who is 73 has recently been diagnosed with a glioblastoma. 6weeksago he had a partial clearance of the tumour. His chemotherapy and radiotherapy have been delayed due to a waiting list from 6 weeks to 8 weeks here in leeds. I'm so frightened as I know there is no cure and at best he will survive until the end of 2024. Any advice/comments would be helpful as I have no family to turn to.

Thanks

  • A very warm welcome to the forum Wribs although I'm sorry to hear your husband has recently been diagnosed with a glioblastoma.

Hopefully some of our members who have experience with this type of brain tumour will be along soon to share their experiences and advice but in the meantime, if you'd like to talk any of this through with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they'll do all they can to support you and address any other worries or concerns you may have at this time.

I'm not sure if you're in touch with this charity already, but you may be able to get further information and advice from The Brain Tumour Charity.

I know this must be very scary Wribs, but our community are here for you and will do all they can to support you on this journey.

    Best wishes to you both,
