Stage 4 Gleason 9 Prostate cancer

Hi all,

I was diagnosed on my birthday 2 yrs ago, been a funny old time since then (funny peculiar), I’ve found out who my real friends are and what my family think of me, been a hard time so far even though my cancer is under control now!
I have regular feelings of “why me?”, I also regret telling my adult children my diagnosis/prognosis as they have broken off all contact and people I counted as friends have isolated me.
I should count myself “lucky”, but I feel cursed and damned!

  • I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I'm really happy for you that your cancer is under control. My family are new to dealing with a cancer diagnosis of my Dad and we're all finding it quite traumatic with the ups and downs. I really hope you're able to reconnect with your loved ones. I don't have any words of advice sorry, but couldn't just ignore your post so wanted to reply.
