Very New - living with metastatic prostate cancer

I am black African male. I am diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2021. My CT's scan results' conclusion was "PROSTATIC CARCINOMA WITH NODAL METASTASES". The following year I did orchiectomy operation. In 2023, I went for PSA TEST. The test result was 2. The following year 2024 I went for another PSA TEST, when I was having pains around my lower rightside's ribs, pelvic region down to my tail bone; and the result was approximately 36.

To my Urologist this was alarming; he concluded that this is castration resistance cancer. I went to do Ultrasound scan. The result was that the "prostate gland is homogeneous in architecture. No evidence of malignancy found". My Urologist have strong reservations about the Ultrasound scan.

I asked for MRI SCAN, which I did and awaiting the results.

If the MRI SCAN prove my Urologist right; what treatment shall I go for?

  • Hello Ajokem and a warm welcome to the forum though sorry to hear what you have been going through. I think your choice of treatment will depend on what your MRI shows, and if it is cancer, what your biopsy results are, your prostate can look normal and still be cancerous and be enlarged and cancer free It is not for me to guess what your treatment will be, much better to leave it to the experts, when you get your results and i can help please ask, best wishes and take care.

  • Thanks, I shall get back.

  • Here's the MRI's report.

    The Impression, is as follows

    1) Prostate appears normal in size
    2) Mild hypertrophy of the central zone with no intravesical extension noted.
    3) No obvious evidence of diffusion restricting lesions noted in the periphery.
    4) Enhancing T1/T2 heterointense lesion noted involving the roof and posterior wall of the right acetabulum and the right superior pubic ramus -?Metastatic lesion.

  • Hi Ajokem thank you for sharing your MRI results, if it wasn't that your PSA was 36, I would be hopeful of benign prostate hypertrophy, but your PSA number indicates something else, Have you been asked to have a prostate biopsy, Eddie
