Prostrate Cancer

Well my operation is on the 08/03 and it was a shock when I sat in that hospital room and was told I had cancer. My wife of 6 months looked at me and informed me that we had been married for 6 months and I was lost for words. I was lucky as I had previous back issues and the GP sent me for a scan and they found the Cancer so I am lucky I guess but at 55 this has been a wake up call. I am always tired now and in discomfort. But I am hoping that after the operation that I can get back to normal health and living the life I want. So to all of you with Cancer God bless us all

  • Hi PJM and welcome to the Cancer Chat community.

I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with prostate cancer. As you mention in your post, finding out you have cancer can bring about so many thoughts and feelings, but I'm glad you've reached out to us as quite a few of our members have this diagnosis too, so you are not alone, and hopefully it won't be long until some of them stop by to introduce themselves and offer you their support and advice.

You can find out more about prostate cancer on our website, but if you or your wife would like to talk any of this through with one of our cancer nurses, you can do so on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I know the next week or so is going to be very tough but we are here for you PJM and are sending all our strength and support your way.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
