Prostate Cancer

The 29th January started a whole new outlook on life for me. After a high PSA reading of 15, then another one a week later of 14.1 the doctor sent me to hospital on 29th. Rectal examination, MRI scan and the decision to do a Prostate biopsy. The result showed something there so a CT scan with radiation injection. I'm now radioactive! Not had that result through yet but here's hoping it hasn't spread.  My local hospital does not have a good reputation but I must say that all the staff dealing with this have been excellent. Not seen a consultant yet but hope s/he is equally as good. Mentally just about keeping it together but as a practicing Christian I have help in that department! I have just read a post from a few weeks ago about this diagnosis and it has been very helpful regarding waiting times and how it generally works. It has made me rethink my priorities and what I am doing in my life. So I have already changed some ways of looking at life. Even at my age of 78 I still thought I was bombproof. Well; i'm not! So if anyone would like to talk about this it may help you and probably help me as well. Good luck everyone. All the best.

  • Hello Danny.W and a warm welcome from me, I must say you are holding it together better than most and can relate to how a situation like this changes your life and indeed you, I am assuming you are at urology for your tests so likely to meet your oncologist when you have your biopsy and hopefully good news to follow, take care.
