Hi I'm new to the group.
Diagnosed colon cancer, had surgery in September. Currently 4/8 cycle of oxaliplatin and Capecitabine. Anyone else in a similar position.
Take care,

Hello Zazza,
I didn't have any of the usual symptoms but I did get a routine NHS stool test through the post, which I did. When I was in hospital having my operation it came back with a positive result, so worth doing the test.
Take care,
Jayne
Hello Gordgrc,
I didn't have the usual symptoms. I hope the scan gives you more answers and your team have a clear plan forward for you.
Take care,
Jsyne
Thank you, was it a high positive or a low positive? I’m just trying to stay hopeful that even though I got a high positive it will still be ok
Mine didn't say high or low just showed concern. A CEA blood test and scan confirmed my tumor. I was also anemic which I wasn't aware of until I went to hospital.
Hope that helps.
Ok thank you for your reply :) and good luck with everything x
Hi Jayne
I'm in a similar position
Did a stool test back at the end of July that was abnormal
I had a colonoscopy 2 weeks later, and was told there and then that I had a rectal tumour.
I had a week of radiotherapy at the end of September followed by surgery at the beginning of October.
I started 4 cycles of chemo at the end of November as there was evidence of cancer in 2 of the extracted lymph nodes.
My chemo drugs are the same as yours, and I took the last tablet yesterday. Woohoo.
I have really struggled with an intentional tremor that they think is chemo related but have had a head mri to see if anything else is going on.
I've hated every minute of chemo and glad it is over. Interesting that you are having twice the number of cycles. Hang in there, it is for the good, but is rubbish at the time. You will get through it though.
Sending you lots of healing and good wishes.x
I’m so sorry to hear you’ve gone through this do you know what the results of your FIT was? Is everything else going to be ok?
Hi, I don't think I ever had a number for the FIT, just that it was abnormal.
Other than the tremor, everything else seems to be on track. I've an appointment with my oncologist in a couple of weeks, so I'm hoping that at that point I am going to be handed back to my surgeon for routine 5 year follow up. Fingers crossed!
Been a bit of a journey and was certainly an unwelcome surprise but feel that I have been in excellent hands and everything has moved along at quite a good pace, which has certainly helped.
Wishing you very good wishes with your journey. X
