Saw the oncology consultant yesterday for the results of my CT scan. Good news, everything's looking good and my cancer is in remission. I will see him again in 3 months for a check up but won’t need a scan. Unfortunately still no BRCA2 results so don’t know if I should be having further medication. Only one week and the three month window between the end of my chemo and if I need further treatment. Consultant said if my cancer comes back he can start the treatment then. Not really feeling reassured.

I decided to take matters into my own hands, as I only had a week before it would be too late for further treatment.  I made 2 phone calls to my surgeons secretary, 5 days apart. On day 8 I received a phone call, in the morning, from the surgeon’s secretary with my BRCA2 result, and apologies that I had to wait so long for the result. Negative. The MacM nurse phoned me in the afternoon with the result. If I managed this with 2 phone calls I don’t understand why the MacM nurse got nowhere chasing up since October!
