Hello. I’m new here but hoping not to stay long… biopsy results tomorrow!

Um, hi…

I’ve just had a generic information email from CR informing me that it’s Cervical Cancer Prevention Week this week, which then resulted in me finding this forum. Tomorrow I’m receiving a phone call with the scan and biopsy results after an emergency gynae referral last Monday. I’d been ignoring symptoms for too long and then discovered a lump on my cervix. Needless to say that i’m bricking it. Hope this forum has been long abandoned by many posting in my position for whom it all turned out to be alright. Not really sure what I’m hoping to get out of posting here but I’m sending love to all those who need it.

  • Finally got the results yesterday (a week later than anticipated- which wasn’t the most fun). It’s cancer. Waiting for PET scan appointment to find out more. But they are thinking hopefully stage 1b but scans showing a ‘borderline node’ so if that’s involved it’s stage 3, apparently. None of this feels real.

  • Hi, so sorry to hear of your diagnosis, I definitely think the worst part is waiting for results. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 18th January. Strangly, I feel calmer since diagnosed and have been through further testing. I still find the situation quite surreal, I'm sure many people feel this way. I'm now due to see oncologist 14th February ( original date given was 26th) and hope to start treatment soon. I wish you well on your journey moving forward. Xx

  • Thank you for your reply, and I’m sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I can completely relate to feeling calmer now you know. Good luck to you for your appointments. Here for updates if you want someone to share with xx

  • Thank you. Hopefully your appointment moving forward won't take too long to come through, mine were very quick. Always here for a chat. X
