I have been diagnosed with secondary cancer, it's treatable but not curable.
Hello Niblock_ and welcome to the forum, sorry to hear you have metastatic cancer, I know how difficult it is to be told this diagnosis and what an emotional time this is for you and any loved ones. as you have given very few details about your cancer i can only offer general advice. Firstly like you my cancer is metastatic, my primary being prostate with 5 secondaries, i was diagnosed 2 years ago have been on hormone therapy since and had radiotherapy last April 20 sessions, and chemotherapy this April, which are the 3 main treatments, not always in this order, for most cancers. I can guess like the rest of us who have been given a not curable diagnosis you are having some pretty dark thoughts and it is understandable, the early days waiting for treatment are the hardest, but things will get a little better hen treatment starts. Niblock_, i know people who have been on the treatable only pathway for over 20 years. and many well over 10, myself, even though i have a very aggressive variant am hoping for a few more years yet. PS if like most of us you research your condition please use trusted websites and not dr google, I wish you well on your cancer journey and you want aby more advice, help or just someone to talk to, you know where we are, please take care,
Eddie
Thank you Eddie, I had cervical cancer in 2022, had chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment for that, had regular scans, and the scan I had last November had shown it had gone to my lungs, I had a scan on 3rd January, and started my chemotherapy on 3rd January next round of chemotherapy is January 24th. PS yes I have been on Google for research because I don't know any other websites to go on as I'm not really techno savvy lol. You too take care

Hi Niblock_, looks like we have something else in common, i am pretty useless with computers too. here are some suggestions for websites just print in the whole address and you should connect.. cancerrsearchuk.org/cervical cancer... www.macmillan.org.uk, then click on macmillan cancer support... www.jostrust.org.uk... I hope the chemo goes well for you and the side effects pass you by, take care.

I'm having immunethreapy, followed by CT scans.
Good luck with your treatment Niblock_
Hello again Niblock_ It's nice to hear from you again, my best wishes to you and your immunotherapy treatment, hope your staying away from Dr Google, take care.

Hello Eddie,,
Yes I'm on that treatment for 2 years, but because of the original chemotherapy treatment, I have neuropathy from side effects from it.
How are you doing ?
Hi Niblock_ I had my MDT meeting one month ago, RT worked as well as we hoped but HT is failing, though alternatives are available later, I too have developed neuropathy but only in my feet so far, osteoperosis which is being treated and CRCC also called brain fog for which I see a cognitive psychologist. How have you been doing, how did the chemo go, sorry but I know little about immunotherapy but will have everything crossed for you, take care.
