You may be able to get some help from your local Maggies or Macmillan centre. They will know what you're entitled to and your Maggies centre will probably have a wealth of information for things in your area. Support is a very broad term and some folk have an ok time getting help, whilst others have to jump through hoops. It really all depends on the care system in your area. Some are bad, some are awful and some are actually quite good. It really is a postcode lottery.
