FIT tests don't really determine chance of cancer; they just say if there is blood in the stool and how much. 44 would indicate quite a lot of blood in your stool, but many things can cause that. Cancer is one option, but others are polyps, diverticulitis, Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, hemorrhoids, an infection... Until you have the colonoscopy, there is no way of telling what is likely to be the cause.

Yeah, that was a typo. 44 would indicate only a little blood in your stool, but either way, it just is just an indication of how much blood, not of how likely any particular cause is.
