positive FIT test routine bowel screening

Hiya.

I've had a letter to say routine screening has shown a positive result so screening call next Friday them colonoscopy..am freaking out!!!

I have had since childbirth piles off and on so never really worried about very odd show of red blood especially with itchy and obvious piles..but this has thrown me...I'm normal weight, 56, normal loo habits, i exercise most days and no pain or bloating or tiredness..yes I do get a  random bit of not perfect poop but only as a one off but now freaking out..my sisters and kids are quite windy as am i but thoight that just our nirmal..Dr google is not my friend as all I can see are bad stories..no idea of a FIT score which seems to be things talk about...any thoughts anyone?? Am I panicking too much?? Has been a real freak out for me..

    Hi Helensr,

    Firstly it's good to hear it's not too long to wait for your appointment. I know the uncertainty will be difficult - try not to assume anything. And also try to steer clear of Google as a lot of the information will be irrelevant and it only tends to increase worries.

    Hopefully you'll get some more replies to your post here soon.
