Hello,
My journey has only just begun. Following a positive Bowel Cancer Screening Test in July, I had a colonoscopy on Friday (11th) and was told I have a malignant ulcerated rectal tumour. I have multiple diverticula, had 2 polyps removed (probably benign), 8 samples taken for biopsy and was taken for an immediate CT Scan. The Specialist Nurse (who was brilliant) said I would be sent an appointment for an MRI. She also said my case would go to the MDT the week after next. During my colonoscopy I was asked if I had been bleeding for a long time. The question and the speed that everything is happening has worried me in case it means things are really advanced. I am pleased things are moving quickly, but concerned at the same time. I am due a telephone call from the Specialist Nurse tomorrow. Everything seems so unreal - one minute I feel quite positive and the next I am in the depths of despair.
