Awaiting breast referral results - how do others cope?

Hi I’m nearly 43, I found a lump a few months back but only attended the doctors a few weeks ago as I was unsure what it was. They referred me straight away and I got an appointment with a surgeon at breast clinic. He did an ultrasound and said he was concerned about my lump and referred me to have mammogram. Had my mammogram yesterday, the doc said it looks suspiciously like cancer. I had 6 core biopsies done on 2 areas and markers put in. I need to wait a week for my results. I know in my heart what is coming, I seen the lump on the mammogram and it’s a spikey thing about 2 and half centimetres. The wait is torture. Sorry for ranting but wondering how others coped in this situation xx

  • Hi… I’m in the same position, had a mammogram and biopsy 2 weeks ago tomorrow…. I received a letter which was a copy of the letter to the dr to say what they had done… I had U (with a number) I can’t remember what now, and I’m at work… but I had no idea what these meant…. Tbh, I’m feeling positive, but maybe that’s just me being naive and not thinking of any alternative…. I was told 7-10 days for results and I’ve still not heard anything so I’m taking that as positive xxx big hugs xx
