Newbie been referred for lump

Hi all found a lump last night in my breast, straight to the gp this morning and she has referred me and I have an appointment 2 weeks today at the breast clinic, I go on holiday next week for a wee k and just keep thinking how do I get through the days and nights with this hanging over me ? everyone is like "keep positive it may not be anything sinister" and yeah it might not be but I also have to keep in mind that it might be and I need to be able to try and deal with it if that's the outcome . I just wanted to say hello to you all and hopefully chat to people in a similar situation. Xx

  • Hi Elaine, just wanted to say hi and I'm in the same position as you. Saw my GP yesterday, fast track referral to the breast clinic and now waiting. My lump is a 'definite hard mass' as the doc described it but is not attached to anything. Trying to keep everything normal as I don't want to tell my kids until I have a better idea of what's going on. But it's hard not to think about it and I'm paranoid about every twinge now. X

  • Hi Jayne

sending you good luck for your appointment wishing you a positive outcome I was in your shoes last year had a BC diagnosis, I’m fully back to normal now but here to chat listen or help if you need me love Lara xxx

  • Thanks Lara I really appreciate the message. It's so good to hear that you are back on track a year after your diagnosis. It's so easy to let your imagination run away when you don't know what you're dealing with. I'm trying to keep busy til my clinic appointment comes through then I guess it'll be waiting for results etc. It makes a big difference to hear other people's experiences, makes you realise you're not alone, thank you xxx
