Unless it's a very old build, most buildings incorporate asbestos like materials that aren't actually asbestos. Like the old artex ceilings, nowadays they are just done using safe materials. You can't tell what is or isn't just by visualisation. That needs to be tested in a lab.

If in doubt call someone who can test the panel.

It's a 70's ex council house. Should have left it where it was don't know why I picked it up. No point in worrying about it now I suppose.

Hello Nethelwood, let my put your mind at rest, unless you took a saw or drill or ripped up the sheeting you have not contaminated yourself or your house at all. The act of picking up the sheeting and placing it outside would not be a worry at all even if it was asbestos.
