Hiya all.
I’m Simon, just turned 60. I have stage 3
Stomach cancer. I’m 3 chemo sessions in on FLOT with the last in 8 days. Surgery after then 4 more rounds of chemo.
This for me is a secondary cancer, I got 2 years clear of head and neck cancer in September so getting this diagnosis was a bit of a kick.
Thankfully I’ve been very lucky and had very few and very mild effects, can’t do cold on my hand or lips after treatment for 5 days. The filgrastin injection makes me feel horrid and lethargic but with really bad insomnia. I was on 5 days but they have cut down to 3 which I can survive then sleep 16 hours.
Still have a full head of hair too.
Feel quite guilty after reading how others have suffered but I’m also incredibly stubborn and will fight any obstacle.
I’m board as not allowed to go to work as working as a paramedic in any setting is according to my Dr, just not worth it.
Thank you for allowing me to join.
Best regards to all and fight the fight.
Simon
