Restless legs syndrome hasn't stopped after 3rd chemo

Is there anyone out there who suffers like me from restless legs syndrome? I have had it since I was a teenager, just bouts of a week or so and widely spaced. I could go a year or so without an episode. This latest episode started after my 3rd of 6 chemo cycles last June (I have breast cancer) and it hasn't stopped yet. I am at my wits end and so, so tired. Apart from the nights that I zonk out completely (due to sheer exhaustion I think) I suffer every single night with legs intent on running a marathon. It's beyond frustrating and I have no one I can talk to about this. You have to have the problem yourself to truly appreciate what an awful thing it is. I would be grateful for any advice you may have. I've tried 3 different prescribed drugs with no effect so I am willing to try any alternative remedies there may be. Thank you for reading this. I wish you well, take care, xx

  • I'm so sorry to hear that your latest episode of restless leg syndrome hasn't stopped since your 3rd chemo. I can't begin to imagine how difficult this must be for you.

Hopefully some of our members who have experience of this will offer their advice and suggestions to you soon but in the meantime, I hope some of the ideas offered in this post from Gardengal73 back in 2020 will help.

If you'd like to discuss this with one of our cancer nurses, you can contact them on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they'll do everything that they can to help.

I really hope this stops for you soon and all goes well with the rest of your chemo.

    Kind regards,
