I can assure you that the way you are feeling is nfortunately perfectly normal. Dealing with the unknown is always difficult and our imaginations tend to go into overdrive. Having a biopsy can leave the breast tender for a while afterwards, but it is unusual to have pain associated with breast cancer. Not all breast  lumps are cancerous. Many are benign cysts, hormonal or fibrous changes. Only 1 person in every 8 who attend the breast clinic will get a cancer diagnosis.

Hi Mackenna, feel your pain as I've just had a second biopsy taken Monday a vacume biopsy as first biopsy last week, a core needle biopsy, found some atypical cells and so they wanted to biopsy a larger area, going Monday for results! Trying not to worry until I know what dealing with although it's hard not too x good luck with yours and it's completely normal to worry x

Alibro im I'm a similar situation where atypical cells have been discovered following a biopsy. I've been assured it's nothing to worry about but they want to remove the lump and send for further testing. 
 

I hope you don't mind but I was wondering if you had any further information you could share on the outcome of your results? I feel in limbo waiting for the operation and outcome x
 

Hi Casx,

I am sorry to hear that they want to remove a lump to send for further testing. Although this is a worrying situation, you could still find that there is nothing untoward there. A number of people go through similar situations, but the one good thing is, that your consultant is not taking any chances and wants to be certain that there is no cancer present.

Some cancers don't always show up on mammogram or ultrasound, so you'll be glad that you've had this done in the end. Do you have a date for surgery yet?

Hey, for myself, the not knowing to date has been the worst part for me,I'm sorry your feeling this way,my positive thoughts I can share with you are, you will feel relief when you get your results, good or not so good, you will have the strength to go forward, because you will know either way, and have the answer you have been waiting for,I hope it's good news, however as I have learned,we will all be here for you no matter what, being able to reach out and have this forum has 100% gave me the courage to tackle each stage as it comes and it's priceless xx
