Hi all i'm new here. I'm 29 years old and was diagnosed with Head & Neck Cancer whilst pregnant last June.

I have undergone two surgies and treatment and recently have had an MRI scan to see if the treament has been successful / cancer is in remission. 

I've called and chased my results and have been advised that I should be down for discussion at next week's MDT meeting.

I'm absolutly petrified and have convinced myself i'm down for discussion because I still have cancer.

Do all results get discussed positive or negative at these meetings?

    I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis last year. It's always a difficult time receiving that kind of news and to have been diagnosed whilst pregnant I can imagine was very scary for you. I do hope that the surgeries and treatment haven't been too harsh. 

    Hopefully, I can offer you a little reassurance this evening in saying that it's very much the norm for results to be discussed at an MDT. This is a meeting where all the specialists get together to look at all the information they have from your recent scans and medical history and collectively decide what the next steps may be. Hopefully, the information that your results give the team will mean that they're able to give you some good news. 

    I know how difficult this period of waiting can be and it often can help to chat things through with someone. If you'd like to speak with one of our nurses for some support and reassurance you're most welcome to give them a call. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

    I am so sorry to hear of your worry. I just want to endorse what our moderator Jenn, has already told you. It is indeed normal for all results to be discussed at an MDT meeting, regardless of the outcome.
