  • Hi Lisa, each person is given the medication that has been decided at a mdt meeting in respect of their case and what will be best for them, so at the moment he will receive this chemotherapy and then they will do a scan to see if it has shrunk his cancer.  Then a further meeting will be held as to how his treatment will continue.  My husband has stage 4 lung cancer, he had all his chemotherapy then radiotherapy, he is now on immunotherapy.  All of this has taken four years since diagnosis so despite it being palliative he is still here and still has stage 4 lung cancer.  I hope this explains things a little bit for you.  Best wishes, Carol x

  • Thank you for your above response to the original post, my mum has just been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and I'm worried sick, but so reassuring to hear you husband is still here 4 years later after his diagnosis, is filling me with hope ️

  • I'm so happy to give you some hope. Numerous other people have contacted me thinking it was a death sentence ans many months in we are still communicating privately ans parents are doing well. Best wishes, Carol

  • Thank you so much, these are the positive words we so need to hear xx
