I suggest you first phone the hospital clinic where you are having your appointment, to see if they can arrange hospital transport for you. 

I had to go from Berkshire to a London hospital for surgery and they provided transport both ways - in fact they insisted on it because of Covid and having to isolate before being admitted.

If the hospital can't provide transport, there are usually some local volunteers who may be able to help. I would think you can get in touch via your GP or one of the cancer support charities such as Macmillan or Marie Curie.

I'm sorry I can't be more specific because tbese are all local services so it will depend where you live and which hospital you are attending.

It sounds like you need support with pain medication too, so that's something to ask whoever is in charge of your care - probably your oncologist.  I've always been reluctant to take pain killers but I have found it makes such a difference, not only on what you are able to do physically, but also on your general mood and emotions. I have extensive bone metasteses so I do understand.

Have you been given a cancer nurse as a contact?  The team at my local hospital has been a great support with practical help and advice.

Hi as Elljay has put most hospitals have transportation to and from hospital and alot have wheelchair access..

Or trying Dr to get drivers who use their own vehicles and you pay for fuel on some of them,

Alot cheaper than taxi.
