Husband stage 4 lung cancer

Don't know how I've got this far my husband was diagnosed in February with stage 4 lung cancer given weeks to live he's still with me has had 4 lots of chemo the first 2 put him in hospital for 8 days at a time very poorly and now he wants to go back to work but I'm so worried that it might be too much he's doctor has said that chemo from now on will be maintenance but what does that mean! He's also got it in lymph nodes and bones just don't know what's coming next

  • Hi Carol, I'm so sorry to hear this! My dad was also given weeks to live in June :( he will be having his 3rd chemo on Thursday. He will be 70 on the 1st sept. How is your husband coping? Xx

  • Hi Jade 1988c

my husband is coping ok I think it's me who's falling apart not sure what's happening next haven't been to hospital with him because of COVID-19 also my son in law had a spine injury had a disc shatter which had to be removed he is now semi paralysed so trying to look after my daughter and 6 grandchildren it's just been hard and the thought of losing my husband is just so so hard. I'm sorry to hear about your dad hope all goes well with the chemo xxx

  • Hi Carol.

Specialists don't know how long patients have. Alot of it is calculations done years ago some aren't far out some way out it can depend on cancer, patient and treatment, thares some on forum given months still here years later, have a read about 'mare or marj58. For two.

Remember I'm not medicaly trained just a cancer surviver.

Good luck with your husbands future.

    Billy
