Hi questmark, 

Stage 4 doesn't mean terminal.

I've been stage 4 since February 2016 been on palliative care no operation just living with my uninvited guest, I've prostate Cancer gone to lymph nodes, spine, ribs, pelvis and a lung.

Has anyone off treatment options there should be some. 

Stage 4 doesn't mean that's it. Thares others on the forum same stage and still fighting or even cured.

Thanks for your reply Billy. Sorry I should have clarified more. She was diagnosed by telephone last Friday has terminal. I thought stage 4 and terminal where one in the same. As you can tell my knowledge of cancer is slim.

Sorry to hear about your cancer. I hope there is some way you can recover or your condition can improve.

Hello I am sorry to hear about your sister.I was diagnosed with stage 4 Breast cancer in May 2019 spread in my lungs liver and kidney.My latest scan 3 weeks ago showing no tumors in my kidney and liver and everything else keep shrinking still with the weekly chemo.So yes I am fighting this now 1 year but feeling fit and well and stronger then before.Even my oncologist is happy.Dont google anymore please its not doing any good.

Hi in my experience it very much depends on  the type of cancer and how well you respond to the treatment.  my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal oseophagus cancer one year ago and we lost him six weeks ago (aged 44). My sister was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma and told she had less than a year to live,  that was 3 years ago now and she is still doing well (aged 53), it hasn't gone but for now under control. My husband was definitely the fittest, strongest and healthiest, so you just can't tell! Terminal means they can't cure it, but some people manage to live with it successfully for years, others don't... unfortunately for us the oncologist was spot on - she predicted about 11 months and he lasted 11 months and 3 weeks..but no one can tell completely,  I never gave up hope for my husband till the end and that helped me through,  but it was heartbreaking seeing his hopes dashed every time he had a a scan and more bad news. .. stay strong for her and her family,  they will need you close xx

Hi Denise, how odd that we are having the same treatment? I'm having eighteen weeks of Paxlitaxel and so far have had three sessiions

 Did you not want to use the cold cap? Why are you having Paxlitaxel for such.a long time? Are there other treatments you can have when it finishes?
