Diagnosed with terminal secondary breast cancer

Hi. I was told 4 weeks ago that my breast cancer has spread to the bones in my lower  back, liver, top of lung and ribs. We have spent the last 4 weeks trying to get pain under control with quite good success. I was  taken to hospital last Thursday for scan and  radiotherapy. Hospital was 3 and a half hours  away so you can imagine how I felt when I got home. Still exhausted. However I feel  that I am getting no backup help such as how to  cope with diagnosis, getting my strength  back and generally what to eat etc. Just feeling abandoned. I am not ready to sit back and accept situation , I want to fight it and try to get some quality of life for as long as  I  can. But where do I get that help. Gp, M Nurse  and district nurse have been great with pain but there it ends. Appetite is poor because I am not fit to cook anything tasty so trying to live on convenience meals. I have tried to cook but not enough strength. I really need help but where does  one go. I am feeling quite low because of it. Any advice would be so appreciated.

  • Hi Seiko I am so sorry about your diagnosis but you are right if you can you have to fight it.Are you having any treatment now?

If you call your nurse or GP you can ask for a referral to get a help from hospice or some home care for few hours per day so maybe somebody could come to help you.I havent asked I am BC stage 4 mets in lungs but I am quiet independent we are managing with my husband.
