Hi there, so sorry to hear about your mum. It’s such a horrible thing to go through. Sending you and your family lots of strength right now. 

I am also in a similar position. My partner’s mum has just been diagnosed with lung cancer and brain metastasis. We’re currently looking after her - the same situation you’re in, no one else is allowed to come round due to COVID. It is so incredibly hard. Each day, or rather, each hour is so different to the next. She’s so confused all the time; forgetting what she has said or what she’s doing. She’s sleeping a lot these past few days. She was only diagnosed 3 weeks ago. I’m having to get her dressed now as she can’t manage it. Trying to stay positive for my partner and his mum and keep smiling but im honestly heartbroken.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, this is the worst thing I've ever seen and I think will ever live to see. Current update is her delusions are getting worse, hardly eating anything at all and her feet are always freezing cold. Myself and my partner have our own flat, but we have to take it in turns to be here through the night as she often wakes up between 3 and 4am. It's very physically and emotionally draining, as much as I love my mum, I know she is suffering right now and it's hard watching her deteriorate in front of my eyes . I ask the nurses how long she has , but they don't give a timeframe, usually they don't see that side to her as for some reason she perks up when they are here. All we can do is our best and fulfil my mums wishes of being at home.
