I have been battling this disease for 3 years and gone through Chemo twice following 2 major surgeries. My cancer has spread rapidly in the last 3 months. I find myself in hospital again with a blocked bowel and no solution to fix it as my abdominal wall is riddled with disease. My liver lungs bowel lymph nodes are also diseased. I have just turned 55 and as you can imagine my family and friends are devastated. There is no longer hope for me and my faith in God to help me through this is all I have. I pray for all of you out there fighting this illness. Stay strong and positive. I see myself as one of the unlucky ones but there is hope out there for so many people. Embrass every day and enjoy it. I have done this and gone to places I'd never dreamt off. Take care all of you out there Carol

    Hi Carol,

    Thanks for sharing your story with us. I hope your pain is being well managed, that you are as comfortable as possible and getting the support you need.

    Where have your journeys with cancer taken you? I've been out to India a couple of times and I hope to see more of the World whilst I'm in partial remission.

    Hi Dave. My husband and I have travelled to Canada twice to Vancouver and Whistler and a little place called Pemberton where our daughter is the library director. London every few months as it's my favourite place. Stayed in castle hotels in the south of Ireland. Last week we were in Amsterdam to celebrate my birthday. You have the right attitude go see the places you want to. I wish you will be in remission for a very long time to come. Take care and thank you for your response Carol x

    Dear Carol,

    I am sorry to read your post and hope that you are able to continue to visit as many places as you want and that your pain is managed to enable you to do these things.   You sound such a positive lovely lady.  I myself have not had cancer but my son did so I stand on the other side of the fence and look over.  T here are so many stories on this site and it is good to be able to share concerns or information with other people and I would like to think on occasion help somebody during a dark time.  You sound as though you are making memories and enjoying life long may it continue.  love lesliexxx

    Cool - I've been avoiding North America because of the cost of travel insurance to their, but I guess it would be different if one of my sons was living there :-) We love Amsterdam too!
