Thoughts on the Dying Process

I insert my late wife's thoughts.  She died of Kidney cancer of the lymph glands on 19th January this year.  She was very positive to the end and tried hard to learn and share her experience for the benefit of others.

Please feel free to view and read and share with anyone who would benefit.  Debbie's horror was dying young and mine is living without her but her message is one of hope. xxx

  • Hi Ian.

Am so glad you have found a little happiness with somebody; nobody should remain unhappy and Debbie wouldnt't want you to.  Wishing you all the best.  Hope x

  • Hi Ian,

Well I am going to say this even if I shouldn't. I am glad I read you correctly.

I felt the change from the end of January.

I am so glad you have found someody to share with, time, fun laughter and as you say sometimes release from difficult thoughts and feelings.

Debbie is part of you and that is what makes you who you are today, and she would love to see you laugh again and enjoying yourself.

Look after yourself Ian, your worth it.

    Hugs and love

    Annabel. xx

  • Hi Hope and thanks for the support ... it is early days but I need to 'make every day count' and it is not easy to when you are sad and unable to move on.

Lots of love coming your way

    Ianx

  • Well well Annabel,

You certainly did read me correctly .. and yes end of January was about right too!  You have some special powers there my dear friend!  .... and I appreciate that, thanks.  I even have a Valentines dinner organised for tonight!

The way I see it: I have learnt so much from this past year, on reflection, both about myself and so much I hadn't quite got before about Debbie.....and as a result of this new found knowledge: I want to not only be a better person, through this, but try and be more aware of the detail in life one begins to take for granted before the 'white elephant appeared in the corner of every room'.

    Kindness and hugs

    Ian xx

  • Hi Jules,

  • Hi Ian

Its good when life is busy and hope its not all work related.

I would say we are plodding along and that our respective laptops are likely to suffer burn out as I chat on here and he plays endless card games on his.I am on a non working day today so have been to visit Mum, got soaked on the return walk as we had a cloudburst about half way home and having dried out now thinking about what to have for lunch - hubby decided on crisps and a coffee!!!!  It certainly helps to have things to do though we are thankfully both enjoying the winter olympics coverage.  Out to lunch with our son (for his birthday) on Friday and then babysitting on Saturday so as they say 'its all go'.  Hubby spent most of last couple of days dozing but today has not yet had a nap so am learning to take each day as it comes. Visiting a poorly friend tomorrow, on my way home from work,  for a good gossip so think I will take in 'afternoon tea' for her and the family.

Look after yourself and hope that all is going well with you and yours.  Jules xx

  • Thanks Jules,

It sounds as if you are keeping very busy and your hubby is in a - for him - comfortable and accepting place.  It is all such a long ordeal this coping and living a life around and through cancer!  I know I found it all very difficult and emotionally tiring as the one providing care.  Just keep talking and sharing and it will continue to help .. as you know.

I am enjoying this improved weather.  Less dog towels to wash .

    Virtual hugs and kisses

  • Hi Jules,

Having a spell looking after one or other of Jo's dogs while she is on course with the other...It's like having a demanding guest in the house !**!"....

    hugs

    Ian xx

  • Morning Ian

Beautiful sunny day here in Middlesex and have been out early.  Now back and hubby has just been to pick up a prescription and is now getting his breath back over a large milkshake!

Hope your temporary boarder behaves itself and Jack's nose not too much 'in the air' at having company!!

Had a good few days at work (slightly less hectic now that audit is over) and also visited my friend and caught up with all her family news. Hubby also 'started' a conversation about  a different district nurse visiting yesterday (not expected) - perhaps because she was younger and blonde!!! Thats progress anyway!!

We are going out to lunch with our son/other half later (its his birthday and their treat!!) to a lovely old pub set in large countryside grounds with several lakes so am really looking forward to it.

Hope you have a good weekend. Sending hugs Jules xx

  • Hi Jules,

Thanks, I had a great weekend and hope you did too.  Busy week ahead too !!  I have Ella, Jo's Vizler for the week while she is on a course with Archie!!

    Big hug

    Ian x
