'well' to dying , over night...

Sorry for the drastic title,I haven't reached out for help or support while caring for my mum the last 12 months. The heading is what it says, she was 'well' on the outside one day , then I took he for a blood test , even pushed for it and it was a test for something unrelated. Then doc said ' lets feel your tummy as matter of routine' the rest is as it says above. Long story short my dear mum ( who is my best friend, my world ' ) found out she had terminal cancer- shock was an understatement. I know so many people have received this news too  but I'm really struggling as I have become her everything , she shut everyone medical out as she so scared. Is a lot of pressure and Im finding it hard. I and not complaining and would never in a million years say anything as I know how precious time is. I guess what Im saying is I need support and find it so hard. good luck on this awful journey none of us choose x

  • I know how you feel. Going through similar with my dad. He was well one weekend and then the next he had a stroke, seizures and now diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour (we initially thought he could have chemo but isn’t strong enough now) and has been given 6/12 months. It’s so difficult even with carers.
    Just wanted to let you know you aren’t alone :-)

  • I'm so sorry to let you know but you have answered the wrong person, it doesn't matter really because pain I can understand. Palliative care nurses give me as much painkillers that I can think straight and be mostly pian free, Demand that your Father is always pain free, PREGABALIN  100  keeps me smiling at no

    body but myself and a 20 morphine patch.  My love is with you, be strong for the rest of your Family;

    All my love     Liam
