Becoming real

So the specialist has chatted to us about having a rest from treatment cos hubby not strong enough due to secondaries

Its all becoming more real that there is only one way for hubby.

He is less active and needs lots of rest and pain relief....I know the end is coming closer and hubby has now begun to accept it too ...was all for treatment been so brave as everyone is who goes through these gruelling treatments.

I know im grieving ....its just sad and hard ...

Cancer sucks

  • Hello Rhubarb dragon

All I can do is send you a big virtual hug for all the support you give members on this forum whilst supporting your own husband through a very difficult time. Yes cancer sucks and anticipatory grief becomes very real as time progresses. I know how loved ones suffer as much as the one with cancer. Ive had an unusually bad day today but keep up hope tomorrow will be a better day for both you and me and everyone going through this

  • Hello Ed

Thank you for taking time to reply especially as you say you are having a really bad day too.

Sending you a hug and hope you get some decent rest tonight and tomorrow as you say is brighter for you too

    Kindest wishes RB

  • Hi Lee

Thank you for your kind words I really appreciate them

Along with Ed you have made me feel heard and supported today.

    Cancer really does suck.

But in this dark place there are people who shine a light and help us keep going when we feel defeated...

Thank you Lee  and Ed and anyone who follows on ....together we are stronger ...

    Sending hugs to all

  • Hi Rhubarbdragon

A kind word on this forum really does go a long way in bringing some comfort to those seeking help or information. Your replies are likely appreciated by not only those you are replying to but casual readers with similar problems. A shame some do not bother to acknowledge the effort you've taken to post a reply, but there. Wish you and your husband an easy day if possible. Ive managed a reasonable pain free  nights sleep so today should go ok.

  • Hi Lee

I hope your appointment with the oncologist today goes well, it is always disconcerting when they call you in at short notice but often it is just that they have a free slot due to a cancellation and it gives them a chance to review how you are getting on. Ive only got a routine blood test today ahead of treatment and had a pain free nights sleep so a better day in store plus sun is out. All the best lee for your appointment

    Ed

  • So, so sorry Rhubard-dragon............I wish I could offer you words of comfort, but there aren't any.  And yes, Cancer ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!

  • Hi Ed,  thank you for your kind message and thankfully it was exactly as you said.  So now can breathe again.  Thank you once again.
