My Mum was diagnosed yesterday with inoperable brain cancer 3 months left to live

My Mum who up until 10 days ago was fit and healthy, walked 5 miles no issues loved getting out and about was diagnosed yesterday with inoperable brain cancer and given 3 months to live.

obviously she is going to decline during that period, i want her last three months to be amazing, and while she can experience life to the full.

I am after ideas, anything, bucket list of what anyone can think of, that is realistically achievable, which probably rules out flights abroad,. i live in the middle of the country if that helps.

yes she has a loving family and yes we are there for her and yes we will hold her hand and tell we wouldn't be who we are without her and we lover her dearly, but we would also like to make some last few amazing memories, not because it's what we want but because it's what she deserves.

so any ideas, lay them out here

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi sorry to hear of your sad news . My partner on palliative care and been given weeks not months although Noone never knows how long .. we brought christmas forward so was thinking that is maybe one thing you could possibly think about x

  • My husband was diagnosed in March 2024. glioblastoma grade4. He has had surgery, radiotherapy and 6 round of TMZ. Just been told 40%regrowth.  We are devastated he has no symptoms apart from tiredness and weak legs and a little weight loss despite a good appetite .IM VERY FRIGHTENED. Has anyone else experienced thus regrowth so quickly?

  • My mum was diagnosed with Glioblastoma grade 4 2 months ago. Before this time she was ok and managed to lead her daily life, albeit with some confusion. Only when she started hallucinating did we take her to the doctors and she was diagnosed by being sent to a&e followed up by tests scans etc

The mass was and is so big a biopsy was even out of the question. Fast forward 2 months my mum is completely bed bound having to be spoon fed pureed food. She is silent most of the time and asleep. I could never in my wildest dreams imagined what 2024 would bring us and we have now been told she does not have long left. Her hands are constantly shaking and she feels hot and cold.

with 2 very young children and the worries of my mum I feel on the verge of a breakdown. My mum was the fittest 67 year old you would know completely selfless and very healthy.

Hi, I'm so sad for you. It's as bad a situation for the carer as it is for the patient. I too feel on the edge of a breakdown but I have nobody to share the worries with. I'm so sad as we have been very happy for 50 years. I can't imagine a life without him. I'm sure your mum knows you are there gir her.x x

  • It's so sad to watch . My hubby is bed bound I feed him. wash him . Change him several times a day as he's incontinent as he as rectal cancer . I take my dog out for half hour every day just to have y breakdown so it's not done in front of hubby . We have the constant shaking of hands too he's always so cold  . As a 24 /7 carer we can only do the best for them . Try and keep them comfortable. I s very sad . Stay strong I understand your pain
