I don’t know any of the answers but I just wanted to say I am so sorry to hear about your dad. My dad also has just been diagnosed with colon cancer and awaiting further investigations to confirm a spread to the liver. Sending you so much love ️

Hi if I were you I would either get in touch with your Father's GP and ask these questions or the Doctors or Nurse in charge of his care where he was treated ,you could also ring the Nurses on here on the nurse helpline freefone  0808 8004040  Monday to Friday 9-5 weekdays .

Thank you I really hope so too. He had no symptoms which is terrifying. A bit of abdominal pain but it was just a routine colonoscopy that confirmed it. Xxxxx what about your dads initial symptoms?

Bless him xx. My dad was in and out of the loo the whole day and especially after a meal. He thought it was normal, it had been going on for years. We tried to get him to see a doctor but he was very stubborn. His diarrhoea was explosive too. He then started getting pains when sitting, this came with bleeding. We were 100% sure it was hemorrhoids. He was in Tanzania when this happened and he scheduled an appointment to get the hemorrhoids removed. Luckily, the doctor was a very experienced doctor and as he was about to perform the procedure he Stopped doubting it was hemorrhoids, took a sample for biopsy and that is when we came to find out it was cancer. It would have gone down a different path!
