Hi, my husband is a fit healthy 33 year old, 4 weeks ago he developed severe abdominal pain and sickness. We have spoken to numerous GPs at our surgery numerous 111 calls, a trip to A&E and even a day in hospital to 'fix' the 'constipation'. Well after eventually throwing up feaces and another ambulance visit we finally got taken seriously and yesterday my husband was told he has a blockage in his bowel that is cancer. They have removed this and given him what we hope is a temporary stoma. This has all been such a shock and new to me he is in ICU now as the op was yesterday. I just would like some advise on what I can expect next with Covid I cant visit him which means I can't speak to the health professionals face to face, I feel lost and scared and out of my depth not to mention the anger at the fight I have had with the NHS for 4 weeks. Over £70 spent on prescriptions to 'treat' his constipation.
Anyway sorry for the long post I hope someone has experienced the start of our new cancer journey, any advise and support for me to help him mentally and physically will be very much appreciated. I know its early days, and we don't yet know the extent of the damage.
