I'm sorry to hear that you're currently dealing with some health concerns. It's understandable that you may have questions after your appointment earlier this week. 

It's possible that the initial appointment letter you received was a standard letter hence why it said that you would receive treatment on the day. It sounds like the Consultant wants to make sure that they move things forward with the best place for you hence why they have taken a biopsy and will discuss the results with their colleagues. I understand this can be frustrating and hopefully you won't have to wait too long to hear back from the clinic regarding the next steps. 

We know that for many people this period of waiting and uncertainty can be difficult. It can help to chat things through with someone and I wonder if you might find it helpful to talk with one of our nurses. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, information, and support they can ahead of your next appointment.
