Hello
my husband has been battling cancer for 4 years. First prostate cancer which was successfully treated but. A few months later diagnosed with bowel cancer. Had an operation but 8 months later found out it had spread to his liver. They were going to operate but on the scan they did before op found it had spread to lung. After four different chemotherapy treatments it was said that treatment didn't seem to be working. Tried lonsurf but made him poorly and as our daughter was getting married in 7 weeks (postponed 3 times because of covid)decided to leave trying a lower dose of lonsurf til after the wedding. Wedding was 17th sept he was getting weaker leading up to it had to get a wheelchair and was on oxygen but fought to get there and with help from family and friends managed to get him through the day. When we got home on the Saturday had to phone the nurses who ordered a bed for him for downstairs and from then he quietly and peacefully slipped away over the next few days and passed away on Tuesday 21st sept. Finding it hard to process the conflicting emotions of those few days and still can't believe he's gone. I'm sure he knew what was happening and was determined to be there to see his daughter down the aisle even if he did have to be pushed in a wheelchair
