Mam ♥︎♥︎♥︎

My mother passed away on August the 30th 2019. Me and my family feel so let down by the hospital , I followed the rules of the chemo card that we were given on the signs of what chemo can do , on the day before my mother passed away I phoned the cancer Ward saying she was breathless, diahrea and the feeling of a cold on her chest and they told us to go down to our local GP , I took her and they pulled her off the blood pressure tablets cause my mother blood pressure was very low, during her visit to the GP she was very breathless. Next morning at 9:30am my mother passed away at home with me and my father there, as the cancer Ward asked her to come in straight away that morning but it was to late she died from a blood clot to the lung , why didn't I overrule the cancer Ward and GP , I knew she wasn't her self and it was her last chemo before a break . The chemo was working as there was no cancer on the lung the postmortem said so it was controlling it. People need to be aware of what chemotherapy can do and nurses need to talk to the carer of the patient if patient is unwell enough to talk . My mother should still be here , I'm so lost without her xxx. My mother won't be put down as a cancer patient death it will be as a blood clot, how many people have died because of chemotherapy unknown I suppose , cancer kills more than the government say. Chemotherapy side effects should be pumped into carers and family more to see the signs of when there is something wrong , patients and family know better than nurses and doctors when there is something wrong , better safe than sorry , to late for my mother ️ ️ ️

  • Hey Paulus.

Be careful doing DIY. They say how many accidents happen in the home can be dodgy. Some of my Irish side of the family live in Belfast. They're always saying how good their local hospitals are. But it make sense. If you live in a capital city. There will be more people to treat. Although some of the people shouldn't be in a&e. It's just because they can't get a gp appointment. Or some people panic too easily. Even if they have a sore bloody finger, they're straight in to a&e blocking up the system.
Feeling a bit emotional on these steroids. I've been on & off them over the years. Last time about 6yrs ago i was moon faced. Horrible fluid in my face & neck & my eyes looked froggy. Horrible. Hope i won't look like that over Christmas. Don't want to frighten Father Christmas when he's delivering my pressies!
Anyway. Good luck for tomorrow. Hope you don't have to wait long to be seen. Maybe Liz will cheer you up & make you feel you're not alone.

  • We have a urgent care gp dept in our hospital you ring gp practice after hours it transfers you to them gp rings you back and decides what treatment if its i known thing they fax prescription to local chemist but if its bad you have to go to a/e you wait no longer than 15 minutes to give blood ive often said they should have the managment of this hospital teaching the othere ones how to do it no reason why they cant. A/e is not perfect but they realy were great with my liz its its the st.j.a.m.e.s just about took her chances away the incompetent bunch they would be better at mc donalds .when ambulance came i said are you going to take me into the waiting earea she said yes well i said ime not sitting there in the pain ime in for hours ime getting out of ambulance now they took me straight in .i was worse with liz never nasty but firm so they jumped you can be nice and polite and still get speed you never say can i you say i need to c the dr not can i try it works every time .well hope the seroids help they usualy are pretty quick but the long term effect can be as bad as what they are treat if you havant tell your gp i i need to be refferd to pain clinic then they start treating you properly you cant live in pain like that when theres no need to .paul
