Mum passed today.

Shr was diagnosed with lung cancer with liver mets and a lymph node swelling  that looked at me on the 25th may and left us today on the 25th June . We cared for her at home and it was only the last three days that she went downhill. It’s was so quick but I just wanted to share that the end was pretty peaceful and as soon as the district nurses mentioned syringe driver she thought hang on im off and within half an hour she took her last breath . We had a few hours with her and that meant a lot. I hope that everyone manages the same path. She was very adamant to go from home and we helped her do that . I’m so blessed to have had 44 years with her and to have cared for her at the end . I think of you all going through the same xxx

  • Bless you ime so sorry and i think i spk for all here early yet but keep coming on and talking to others .paul

  • Thank you for your post. First thing I want to say is how sad that you have lost your mum & secondly how very lovely of you to think about helping others with your story. I'm sure it will help others who are anticipating the death of a loved one & feel frightened about what the end will be like for them.

To think about having 44 years with your mum is such a positive way to think about your loss & I certainly hope it helps you in the days & weeks to come.

Thank you so much again & all good wishes. xx
