I lost my mum

I lost my mum to breast cancer in August this year. She had been so determined to beat it and gave it her all. Her mind set was so strong and im so proud at how she took it all on the chin and said its not over yet. 6 week on from her passing  my dad has now been diagnosed with cancer which has spread. I would normally turn to my mum who would be there to give me the strength and words of comfort. As mum's cancer journey ended, dad's has just begun. Just waiting to see now what the treatment plan is for dad.

  • Hello Lilly1; so very sorry about your situation.  Who would believe life could be so horribly awful to you.  Do you have other close family?  Hopefully your dad will be with you for a good time yet.  If you want to keep us informed about how things are progressing and what you are going through we would be very happy and interested to read about how you are coping with this double blow.  Annie

  • Hi,  I have a husband who is very supportive. Mum remarried which gave me a brother but dad only has me and my daughter (his granddaughter) . It's hard at the moment to not compare my mum's cancer journey to my dad's and not expect the same outcome, positivity is hard to keep but you have to be to support.  Nobody wants to watch a loved one go through any pain or illness and all wish we could take their pain and suffering away.
