Hi so sorry to hear your news. My dad passed away 4 weeks ago from lung cancer also. It was very quick - the only bit of advice I can give you is have your family around you - people say it gets easier.. truthfully ifs not any easier. But look after yourself!!!
Hi Nicole and Eliz,
Sorry to read about your recent loss. With regard to what you said about it getting easier Nicole, I dont think we ever really get over losing a parent, but in time we do learn to live with our loss. I have to be honest though sometimes, It gets harder before that happens as we come to realize the enormity of our loss.
If it's any conselation, I do believe when we lose a parent, a little bit of them lives on inside of us. I have inherited several good things both from my father and my mother. I find sometimes I will say or do things and realize, it's just what my mother would have said or done. I find it comforting for I feel she is still guiding me through life if that makes any sense.
Take care both of you, and please stay in contact, Brian.
