Pancreatic cancer

My husband and I came back from the Maldives at the end of June with no idea that would be his last holiday.

He started feeling poorly on the 13th July, went into hospital 11th August and died on Saturday 15th August. My family and I are still in shock as he was not properly diagonised until the day before he died. How does anybody cope with this. I have a good friend and wonderful children but feel very lonely. I cannot seem to get motivated at all. My husband was a young looking 68 year old.  We want to the gym 3 times a week, walked a lot and both had a good diet.  I still cannot come to terms with it.

  • Hi Jackie, I'm so sorry to hear about the recent death of your husband through pancreatic cancer. I wanted to welcome you to the forum where people on here are very caring and supportive and many can relate to your loss. I can imagine that his death was a terrible shock since he went so quickly after diagnosis. Its' good that you have a close friend and that your children are with you, but I'm sure they too are grieving the loss of their Dad as well. (I guess I'm assuming that he was their Dad; I apoligize if I'm wrong.) Just know that there are members of this forum who have also lost a partmer and can be a support to you. Come back on here and let us know how you are managing and to get support from others.

    Take care.
