On behalf of the whole Cancer Chat team, I wanted to post to share my sincere condolences on the recent loss of your partner. 

It's understandably been a difficult time for you all but I'm glad to hear that he was able to spend his final days surrounded by those that loved him and that you were able to share some positive moments of laughter. 

Grief is a natural process but it can be devastating. If you feel that it may help to talk to someone about your loss then don't be afraid to reach out for bereavement support. I know that other members have found organisations such as Cruse to be invaluable on the journey with grief.

I'm so sorry to read your news. I hope you are OK, when my Mum died of cancer it was hard to know how to feel. Relief because she was no longer in pain, sadness because she was gone, guilt because none of us could prevent it and tired because of all the stress and worry which suddenly ended.

Thank you, Yes it's hard to accep, have to think sometimes has this really happend. I thought he would just carry on and one day be cured. Perhaps I've been in a state of denial maybe I'm taking day by day. I'm currently off work I'm exhausted mentally and physically to be honest. The funeral is coming near now

One day at a time is a cliche, but it is the only sensible approach. Don't rush back to work. The time allowed for compassionate leave may be limited but your GP would probably sign you off on the grounds of anxiety or depression - that's what I used to advise my staff when I was a manager anyway. 
Things will get better but it will take a lot of time and you need to get past feeling physically and mentally exhausted. 
A lot of people seem to find that the funeral makes things seem more real. I hope that works for you.
