Small cell lung cancer

Hi, my dad has recently been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer which is incurable.

He has been offered chemo and immune therapy to hopefully prolong the cancer spread!

I am broken and just a mess, has anyone had experience with this type of cancer?

Any comments hugely appreciated!

Thankyou

Char xx

  • A very warm welcome to the Cancer Chat community Char although I'm sorry to hear your dad's been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer.

Finding out a loved one has cancer can be very tough and, understandably, bring about many emotions but I'm glad you've joined us as many of our members will know what you're going through and hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer their support and advice.

In the meantime, I've had a quick look through the forum and thought you may like to have a look at this discussion I've found where some of our members have been sharing their experiences of how their dads have been getting on with small cell lung cancer.

I hope this proves to be useful but if you have any questions playing on your mind about your dad's treatment or would just like to talk things through with someone then do be sure to give our friendly and supportive team of cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Wishing your dad all the very best with his treatment Char.

    Kind regards,
